What you can expect from us

The specification matters

Computer science courses include programming, so we ask which topics and languages a class is on before you accept.

Industry experience counts

If you came to teaching from software or IT, tell us. Schools value it, particularly for programming units.

Ready on day one

We ask whether you will have a login and the software a lesson needs, so the first day is spent teaching.

Register once

One form and your CV. A consultant calls you within one working day.

Questions computing teachers ask

For anything else, call the team on 0115 000 0000.

Do schools expect a particular programming language?

Many GCSE and A level courses use Python, and some use other languages. We check with the school and tell you before you accept.

Do I need qualified teacher status?

For teaching roles, schools usually ask for QTS, QTLS or an overseas qualification recognised in England. Without one, cover supervisor and support roles may suit you, and we can talk through the options.

How soon could I start work?

As soon as your checks are complete. We take you through identity, right to work, references, an enhanced DBS and your qualifications. If your DBS certificate is on the update service, that step can move faster.
